Student Groups (Clubs and societies) are a great way to get involved and promote events and programs at Nipissing University. Participating in a club or a society is the perfect way to meet new people, have fun and explore similar interests with fellow students.

Alpha Gamma Phi

Alpha Gamma Phi is a local sorority promoting true friendship and core principles of truth, honour and duty. Alpha Gamma Phi sisters continue to raise awareness and funds for the North Bay Humane Society and Cancer awareness charities.

Alpha Phi Sigma

Alpha Phi Sigma is an Academic Honour Society for Nipissing University Criminal Justice students. Only students meeting the admission criteria will be invited to join Alpha Phi Sigma.

Best Buddies NUSU/CSC Chapter

Best Buddies provides all participants with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make a new friend. Club members are paired with friends with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Biology Society

This society is for any Biology student looking to connect with other like-minded students.

Cam's Kids

Cam’s Kids is a non-profit looking to support young people struggling with anxiety. We provide resources from our website camskids.com and host events to help students take a break from their studies while promoting healthy ways to manage your anxiety. We also host events via Instagram live such as yoga and paint nights. If you are interested in helping end the stigma surrounding mental health and participating in engaging activities, please consider becoming an ambassador at camskids.com or contact us via email to join the club!

Chemistry Club

A club for chemistry students to network with their peers and the department faculty through academic and social events. Our mission is to strengthen and expand Nipissing’s chemistry department

Criminal Justice Student Association

The Criminal Justice Student Association provides students with a forum for the discussion of criminal justice issues, and create friendships as well as opportunities to learn about careers available to them upon graduation.

Geography Club

The Geography Club is dedicated to enhancing the social and educational wellbeing of Geography students at Nipissing University.

Nipissing & Canadore Christian Fellowship

NCCF is a group of Christian students of Nipissing and Canadore. This is a great community of believers dedicated to building one another up for the glory of God and spreading God’s love to students on campus.

Nipissing U Relay For Life Club

Relay for Life is an event that runs to raise money on behalf of the Canadian Cancer Society. Participants sign up in teams of approximately 10, and come to the overnight event the begins in the evening, and lasts until early the next morning.

Nipissing University Black Association for Student Expression

The Nipissing University Black Association for Student Expression (NUBASE) is a group that strives to create initiatives to promote diversity and inclusion on, and off-campus, and within the North Bay community. This group promotes the proper implementation of anti-racism policies and offers Black students a platform to promote social equality and foster Black culture through community interaction and outreach.

Nipissing University Board Game Club

The NUBGC is a group dedicated to creating new memories and friendships through the use of tabletop and/or card games.

Nipissing University Business Community

NUBC organizes events that provide students with opportunities to network with members from organizations in the community, and to increase student participation in case competitions offered by other universities or organizations.

Nipissing University Chess Club

The chess club is a place for players of all skill levels (beginners are welcome!) to meet and discuss chess. We will get together once a week to play games, study positions, and have fun!

Nipissing University Education Society

Committed to providing social events and programs for all students enrolled in a Nipissing University Education program.

Nipissing University Math and Computer Science Club

We promote knowledge and interest in computer science and math within Nipissing University, and organize events for the student community. Open to all NU students.

Nipissing University Nursing Society

The Nipissing University Nursing Society (NUNS) connects you with other nursing students to help you academically and socially.

Nipissing University Political Science Society

NUPSS is open to all Political Science students and has been created to encourage young people to be actively involved in and aware of the political system, and their civic responsibilities in Canada; to facilitate the “Promote the Vote” campaign during elections; to promote political freedom around the world; to provide a forum for debate and discussion between student groups of differing
political views; to facilitate social events, debates, special lectures, and other activities that interest students of political science, and to aid in the expansion of the political science degree at Nipissing University.

Nipissing University Psychology Society

The Psychology Society is a student-led group on campus that puts on events for Nipissing University students in the Psychology program. The Psychology Society is also a vital link between students and professors.

Nipissing University Physical Health and Education Society

NUPHES is a student run council that falls within our Physical Education Program. As a council we meet 1-3 times a month to discuss and plan ways to get students active within our BPHE program. We hope to organize various events throughout the year. Please keep an eye posted around the athletic center and our social media platforms for future events or ways to get involved!

Nipissing University Social Work Association

NUSWA is a student run and lead organization that represents and advocates for students of the BSW program, to better the overall experience of students and to engage in social work minded community activities. NUSWA brings together BSW students, faculty, and staff of Nipissing University for academic success and community engagement with Integrity, Respect, Pursuit of Social Justice, and Collaboration.

Students For Frontier College

Students for Frontier College’s mission is to work closely with the North Bay community in promoting literacy of all citizens. Both learners and volunteers will be supported through creative learning opportunities. All members/volunteers must complete a screening process before being placed.

EVENT APPROVAL FORM
This approval form is for any event that you’re hosting online or in-person
(VP Student Life, Preston, will let student groups know when in-person events are allowed)

FUNDING REQUEST FORM
– If your club would like to request additional funding from NUSU, please fill out the Club Funding Request Form above.

WITHDRAWAL FORM
– If you would like to withdraw money from your student group account, please fill out a Withdrawal Form above.

EXECUTIVE OFFICER UPDATE FORM
– If there are new or additional executives to your student group, then you must update them using this form.

CLUB/SOCIETY CLOSURE FORM
– If you are needing to close your student group, please fill out this form.

Student Groups Week: Clubs & Societies

All NUSU funded and/or recognized clubs will be showcased at Student Groups Week, as well as students trying to start new clubs. Student Groups Week is a week when club and society members will be available to answer questions, provide further information, and give an opportunity to sign up.
