Welcome to Nipissing University. We, as the Nipissing University Student Union, love meeting our new students. If you are a first year student (straight out of high school), mature student, transfer student, international student or returning student, this page is for you!

O-Weekend

COVID-19 might mean we can’t hold our annual Frosh Week but it won’t stop us connecting, building relationships and having fun. This is open to all first year students, mature students and transfer students. Sign up for this free weekend at: http://nusu.com/oweekend. We are so excited to meet you and create fantastic memories!

Health & Dental Plan

Students at Nipissing University are part of the NUSU Health & Dental Plan. You are able to opt out of this by visiting wespeakstudent.com after September 1st to opt out. You must opt out by October 9th at 4pm. Please see the brochure for more details: 2020-2021 Health Plan

 

Academic Advising


Undergraduate students who wish to plan their programs or who need advice on any academic matter should consult an Academic Advisor. This may include, but is not limited to: planning for degree programs, choosing courses, and clarifying academic procedures or regulations. The Academic Advising Office also determines students’ Second and Dual Degree Requirements and considers students’ Overload and Letter of Permission Requests.

Submit your OSAP application and supporting documents by August 1st. Not sure how to do it? Check it out here.

Find Out Your Class Book List

Go to the Campus Bookstore and find the list you need for your classes.
Go to “Books” and choose the Fall/Winter term.
Select Your Division: English, Education, Fine Arts, Criminology etc.

Make sure that you have the right course number. Class book lists are sometimes not updated August/September so don’t worry! If you have any questions contact [email protected]

Required Information

Once we are back on campus you will need the following information: 

Get Your Parking Pass (If Required)If you are fortunate enough to have a car then a parking pass is required for both at the university and at residence. You can find out all the information here: Canadore/Nipissing Parking

Remember that a bus pass is part of the ancillary fees you pay. With your student card you can get on any bus in the city whenever buses are running.

Lockers

Get A Locker Tag (F216)If you would like a locker for the 2019/2020 year go to the Finance Office to buy one. You must have this in order to keep your books, gym bag or anything else in a locker around the school. Once you have paid you can choose any locker you want. Put your own lock on the locker and lessen the amount you have to carry throughout the year.
